if you get the …
if you get the purple screen and you get an error message when connected to itunes, your ipod is not broken. Put your ipod into dfu mode. hold both home and power button for 10 secs, then just hold home for 10 secs and your ipod will be if dfu mode, the screen will be black. then hold shift and click restore. previoiusly have downloaded another version such as 2.2.1 firmware and restore your ipod. thats the way to fix the purple connect image.

okay i did exactly what you told me in the video and i did disable my internet and now when i plug it into itunes it says error and on the screen it shows the wire thing plugging into itunes withh a purple background..and it says error when i plug it in..what do i do to restore it back to regular firmware when it wont even pop up as a device?
