PLEEEASE HELP! Festival Hall – Melbourne?
hi there,
I’m currently 14 years old and im going to a concert in Melbourne at Festival Hall..
I’ve been to one there once before with my friends, but as none of them can make it this time, im meeting up with some friends that i’ve made over myspace/twitter..
my mum is already weary of me going because she doesn’t know the people i’m meeting up with (i’m from tasmania) so she’s arranged for my uncle to pick me up. But he’s picking me up on his way back from work which is about 11ish..
last time i went to the concert it finished around midnight, so i would miss out on like an hour of it! D:
I’m trying to pursue mum to let me catch a cab home, but she doesn’t want me to because it will be midnight and it’s melbourne etc…
BUT I’m thinking that if there is another option other than the ones i’ve already said, she’ll let me go and stay there until it finishes…
does anyone have any ideas?
I can’t catch trams/trains/buses back because i’m staying like an hour away from the hall (Bacchus Marsh)
And i can’t stay in a hotel because i’m under 18 and unable to check in D:
pleasepleaseplease help! i am reeeally desperate to go to this concert!!
thanks..
Wow you are so lucky you can go at 14 without knowing anyone. Be very careful. Be happy your Uncle can pick you up before the rush of traffic. I dont know anyone at 14 that would be allowed to go without people there mother doesn’t know.

You could go to The Crown Casino (complex) for some food which is a safe place to kill some time and get the Firefly Adelaide bus at about
6 / 7am which if you request it upon booking will maybe drop you in Bacchus Marsh. Dont get a taxi it will cost you too much and the drivers are dodgy anyway. Booking the coach at Southern Cross (underneath rail station) in advance and requesting to be dropped off may be an option. If you cannot get into the actual Casino because of your age
there are other hang outs within the Crown complex and full security there. So it is safe. Melbourne in general is quite safe but you use common sense. Dont wander around in West Melbourne though.
Turn left out of Festival Hall then right at the top of the road (Dudley Street / Spencer Street ) and take a quick taxi the short distance to Crown Complex. Less than $10 in a cab. There may be some outside the hall anyway but stay near to it and dont wander in West Melbourne. The Adelaide Firefly coach goes through Bacchus Marsh and I find Melbourne a place where waiting time passes quickly because its always lively. If you use this option book well in advance.Take Care.
